Will my child need to wear clothes under his karate gi?
My son is about to start karate classes and I feel silly asking his sensei, but I was wondering if he is supposed to wear clothes under his karate gi or not. If he is, I am sure it would have to be something that moves freely. Does anyone have children who take karate? Do they wear clothes under their gi?
Yes, your son should wear underwear underneath his gi. It's necessary to have support during karate. He can even wear an undershirt if he wants to (thin enough so it doesn't restrict movement). This way his perspiration won't ruin the gi over time.
