Physics of martial arts IB extended essay topic... ?
Anything helps. As of now, I'm just brainstorming but stuck on the idea of doing a math/sciences paper as I think it will help my future.
I've been doing a mixed martial arts for two and a half years now so I have a lot of movement to choose from such as judo, ikedo, karate, weapons(nunchucks, short and long staff) tae kwon doe, tai chi etc. With this in mind, would it be possible to write a good extended essay? Some narrow topics that I've been thinking about are "physics of nunchucks" or the effectiveness of that compared to that of the long staff.

I think there is a lot of information to work with. In sports like Judo and Jujitsu there a many physics principles such as leverage, momentum, ect. Weapons also are able to be described in terms of physics. Such as a Staff. If you move the end close to your body in a small arc, the end furthest away must move in a larger arc in the same amount of time, therefore when it strikes it will do so with more force. Fairly simple mathmatics and physics can be applied to all martial arts.
