Kung Fu and Sambo dojo?
Does this sound like a good place? http://ephratamartialarts.com/
I thought it did. I think a mix of these two would be better than me taking TKD. I think they have Kung Fu five days a week so it would help to speed up the learning. I think it would be very effective and a long time ago I tried kickboxing there (before I liked traditional martial arts) and the one kid kicked my arm pads for a drill and my arms hit me in the face. That's when i realized i liked kicking so i did TKD and stuff. I stopped for a little. Well I have to go now so is Kung Fu an effective martial art? Also the Sambo class would help me be well rounded....Any adivce?
Kung Fu is very effective, but u only get good at it if u train for a long time (8 years +). Sambo is like Judo, and if u have good instructers u'll learn fast (i've been doing it for 3 months + already learned alot).
A combination of these 2 would be perfect. The fast strikes + acrobatic movents of Kung Fu would go well w/ the grappling of Sambo.
In reality, learning 2 martial arts at once is very difficult, and if u want 2 do tht u must be completely dedicated and train hard. If learning 2 at 1nce is too hard, try learning
Sambo first, and once u feel lik u're getting good at it, start training in Kung Fu (or visa-versa), and continue Sambo training (more infrequently).
There's also the Q if you want to compete. If so, definately start with Sambo because w/ yor TKD experience, learning grappling would help u be well rounded (if tht's u're goal). W/ the grappling and Kung, you'd may be able to compete in MMA, if you r tht good at the striking element of Kung Fu.
If you do go through w/ Sambo + Kung Fu, u'd probably be perfectly rounded.
Good Luck...
