What does it mean when my hands and feet keep falling sleep and I smell things that aren't there?

I smell burning rubber or something hot at times. My hands, feet, shoulders and knees keep falling asleep. I had back surgery not too long ago and one of the trays were not sterlized and they kept me in the hospital for 2 extra days to give me heavy antibiotics. My scar looks fine, but, now I have these weird symptoms going on.
